Seongnam Textile Association, formed in May, 2005 as business cooperatives for the textile manufacturing firms located in the city of Seongnam, it is now highly active even with the companies relating to other businesses such as shoes, cosmetics, bags, etc.

At present there are about 230 textile companies in Seongnam, among which the members of the Association are 70 companies and a total of approximately 10,000 employees are estimated including workers.

The clothing cluster collaboration, the main project of the Association, is the first cluster business in the domestic textile manufacturing industry. Since the Association was launched, the project has been promoted to improve competitiveness of small and medium companies which are in collaboration with the academy, industry, government, and research institute. The participating organizations are the Seongnam city government, Seongnam Industry Promotion Foundation, Small and Medium Industry Promotion Corporation, Choong-Ang University, and Seongnam Textile Association, with which the Association shares information and technology and forms a win-win network each other through the group manufacturing and order-taking.

The Association will build a competitive and innovative clothing cluster based upon concentrated competence of the members of the Association and its progressive main agents and create various business items, so that we will form the hub of the best fashion clothing industry in the East Asia.
